The Real Meaning of SEO: Do Your Job You Will Succeed

Beginning early this year, certain search engine made some changes to their search ranking,   in the name of providing more relevant search results for it’s users, on official google blog it is estimated 11.8% search results will be affected by this update, put it this way, almost 12% of google search results are useless or of low quality. They planned and started the update about one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s safe to say that old way of link building is doomed.

What is old way of link building any way? a lot of marketing companies did and are doing the plain link building, they put your links on websites which only exist for holding links, the only updates on those websites are the new links, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, the name link spamming are just for these sites. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers,  the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.  

Let’s check out a few examples. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I started promote the keyword, 3/8 Binder Chain, at that time almost every body was doing plain linking campaign, a lot of sites I used had too many links, and those sites had only links, no real content at all. In the beginning, the ranking of the keyword in question rise pretty fast, eventually the keyword could be found on first page, this was the case until google made the change. Here is another keyword, chain puller , we promoted this keyword with articles and blog posts, not too many plain links have been built, you can imagine how this keyword ranks. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? In fact the only thing matters here is content, as long as you dole out high quality content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, such as this interesting blog, sue havens toy , I didn’t put too much effort into it from start, but I never stopped posting, you probably think this site won’t rank a all, in reality this site is doing pretty well for more than a few search terms. Now you can see, quality blog marketing is much better than plain link building. Remember content is king, you just need to create content, get people to enjoy and share your stuff, promote your business with the content, this strategy will prevail in short or long term. Persistence and patience are the keys to success, long term strategy is required to improve anything of significance, i.e., selling online or improve your search rankings, now all we have to do is to share our love for creating and sharing nice content and not to worry about the ranking all the time.
